Ms. Fanny Flagg, born in Birmingham, Alabama, started writing and producing TV specials at age 19 and before long became co-host of the morning show on WBRC TV Birmingham.
Many people remember her from her time as a writer and co-host on Candid Camera as well as a frequent panelist on the TV show Match Game. Ms. Flagg’s nine books include Daisy Fay and the Miracle Man, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Café, The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion, and her latest book The Whole Town’s Talking.

The subsequent film adaptation– Fried Green Tomatoes was nominated for an Academy Award and won Writers Guild of America’s prestigious “Scripters Award”.
