Ray Brown host of “Talkin’ Birds” is a frequent contributor to NPR’s Weekend Edition is the creator of Talkin’ Birds radio show, heard on sixteen stations in New England, New York, Maryland, and internationally via iTunes and talkinbirds.com. Away from the bird world, Ray serves as a music host for Classical 99.5 WCRB in Boston--part of the WGBH family.
Among his broadcast achievements, Ray’s been a Top 5 national finalist in Air Personality of the Year competitions from Billboard Magazine and the National Association of Broadcasters.
A resident of Boston, Brown has performed on stage as narrator in live performances with the Boston Pops, the Boston Classical Orchestra, the Boston Ballet Orchestra, and the Boston Landmarks Orchestra.
He is also an active member of several conservation organizations, including The Nature Conservancy, Sierra Club, Mass Audubon, Cornell Lab of Ornithology, Charles River Watershed Association, Boston Harbor Island Alliance, and Trustees of Reservations.
