In this intimate Workshop, Assemblage Artist Jenny K will work with you to create a piece of Assemblage Art using found, vintage & recycled materials. Each participant will start with their own theme or keyword that Melissa will stamp on a piece of brass, silver plate or aluminum. This will become the “theme” of your creation and from there you can choose to build a wall piece or sculpture using flat wood, cigar boxes, book boxes, etc as the background or frame, and then visit Jenny’s special bins of found, vintage & recycled “junk” available only for this workshop. There will also be lots of different types of Ephemera (paper) to use including vintage book pages, maps, antique photos, game cards and more. And if you’d like, we welcome you to bring your own treasures to work with, too.
This fun and relaxing Workshop is limited to 4 seats per session and will run approximately 4 hours which will allow plenty of time to create and leave with a completed piece of art. Participants will use glues, screws, tacks, tools, etc with Jenny working closely with each one. Participants must be 16 years or older and experience is helpful but not necessary. All supplies are provided—just bring your creativity and willingness to have fun!A Downtown SLO Parking structure voucher is also included in the Workshop price.
