Why would a therapist be reluctant?

Broadcast Date: 4/14/15

There has been a significant change over the last 20 plus years in the way that the helping professions view, approach and treat mental health in the United States.

This shift has not always been in the best interest of those who seek help, and in many ways our current models may be doing more harm than good.

Tune in Tuesday for a Conversation about the dysfunctions in modern psychotherapy and how we can still access good care, in spite of the flaws within this well-intentioned, yet misguided, system.

Elizabeth Barrett is a wife, mother, licensed marriage-family therapist, educator, eavesdropper, emotion worker, and mental health consultant. She uses all of these skills to address the subjects that we all struggle with in this conversation with the Reluctant Therapist.
