Updated 6:32 p.m. Wednesday, June 24: The Park Hill fire that burned 1,791 acres just east of Santa Margarita is now fully contained. PG&E crews continue to repair burned poles and lines in the area. Cal Fire says the cost of fighting this fire is $3.5 million.
Chief Robert Lewin with CAL FIRE said although there were several other large fires burning throughout the state, they secured resources quickly.
"We had people from all over California who came to help us out here. That's part of a system we have in California. We're very lucky in California to have a mutual aid system that is very efficient," said Lewin.
Many of the resources came from areas outside the county.
Firefighters are on the fire line working to contain what's left. Chief Lewin said they will continue to work on the fire for the next few days.
