Soy-based Man Candles are just one of the many enticing products offered at Eco Candles located in downtown Appleton, Wisconsin

Come along and Join correspondent Tom Wilmer and Mary Rhode, Fox Cities Marketing/Communications Manager for a visit with Shelly Nystrom owner and passionate visionary at Eco Candle Company.

Shelly’s retail operation does a thriving business with locals and visitors, but under the radar Eco Candles maintains sales to more than 850 wholesale businesses around America.

Shelly’s business philosophy is predicated on sourcing local and buying American made products. The soy based candles are clean burning and last 30-35% longer than paraffin based candles.

Nystrom is an ardent vegetarian and sources pollutant, toxin, and carcinogenic free ingredients for her candles and bath products.

Eco Candles, employs four full time and three part-time workers and is a poster child for just why Appleton’s business community is thriving with an unemployment rate of 2 percent.

Underbed music performed by Nashville based musician, Gabe Dixon from his album My Favorite ℗ 2011 Concord Music Group, Inc.
