RideShare kicks off Hidden Cash campaign in San Luis Obispo County

SLO RideShare

Throughout the month of October, San Luis Obispo County commuters have an opportunity to win $100 a day just for choosing alternative forms of transportation.

It's called Hidden Cash and it's part of SLO RideShare Month.

Thursday morning a bicycle commuter stumbled upon the $100 prize at the San Luis Obispo Bike Kitchen. Cash will continue to show up daily at random locations throughout the county and related to various forms of travel.

Clues as to where the cash might be are posted through RideShare's social media accounts.

RideShare's Mallory Jenkins says the Hidden Cash campaign is new for them, so they're playing it by ear and having fun while they're at it.

"We don't know how all this is going to go either," said Jenkins. "We'll start off with a clue and if it seems like a [tough one] and people are having a difficult time figuring it out, I'll have more photos or additional clues so that we can direct people to where they should be looking."

Jenkins says the cash could show up at any time of the work day, not just during the morning commute.
