Pismo Preserve effort gets large donation toward $12 million goal

Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County

The push to create an open space park above the Pismo Beach area just got a large contribution toward the effort's overall $12-million dollar fundraising goal.

The trust of the late Harold Miossi is giving $100,000 to The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County's Pismo Preserve conservation effort.

Miossi was a former San Luis Obispo County rancher who worked on a number of local environmental projects over the years.

This latest contribution puts the mission within $950,000 of its goal, according to the Conservancy. The project has until the end of next month to do it.

If successful, the Pismo Preserve would consist of 900 acres of hiking trails and open space overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
