Paso Robles groundwater district plan loses support

The groups pushing to form a Paso Robles groundwater management district are now pulling their support for the district version currently up for consideration in Sacramento.

Paso Robles Agricultural Alliance for Groundwater Solutions (PRAAGS) and Pro Water Equity both say they can no longer stand behind the amended version of AB 24-53.

Assemblyman Katcho Achadjian introduced the bill this past spring, but since then it has undergone several amendments.

The groups say a move by the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors last month also changed the dynamics of the situation.

Each group represents different water interests in the basin but had been working together on the issue.
