The San Luis Obispo Film Festival (SLOFF) has grown into an important and significant tourism event for the Central Coast.

Not only does the festival provide cultural benefit to the county, the festival has also created opportunity for economic growth. By bringing a slice of Hollywood to the Central Coast, each year the festival attracts a wide variety of accomplished filmmakers to the area.  A recent report by the San Luis Obispo County Film Commission, a department of Visit San Luis Obispo County, and a partner to the Film Festival, found that film production is growing in the county. Last year new film projects generated an economic impact of more than $6.3 million dollars.

Join host Fred Munroe as he speaks with Festival Director, Wendy Eidson, as well as Kylee Jepsen, the Film Commission Liaison with Visit San Luis Obispo Countyas they discuss how they provide entertainment, education and inspiration to film-goers and filmmakers alike, and share highlights of the upcoming festival year.

Central Coast Voices is sponsored by ACTION for Healthy Communities in collaboration with KCBX and made possible through underwriting by Joan Gellert-Sargen.

Fred Munroe is a co-host of the KCBX talk show Central Coast Voices, heard every Thursday afternoon from 1:00-2:00.
