Launching the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs

Broadcast date: 11/5/15

The mission of Cal Poly’s Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship(CIE) is to transform motivated students into resourceful, entrepreneurial and innovative leaders.

This is done by supporting and managing a wide variety of programs and activities to stimulate the entrepreneurial “learn by doing” spirit at Cal Poly, and assisting entrepreneurs in following their dreams. In the Center’s entrepreneurial environment, students learn to generate innovative solutions to real-world problems, research promising technologies, and develop viable business plans with the support of experienced entrepreneurs and faculty mentors. Programs, like The SLO Hothouse, work toward developing entrepreneurship and supporting innovation ideas that will ultimately lead to new business opportunities and job growth for both students and community members.

Join host Fred Munroe as he speaks with Tod Nelson, Executive Director of the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CIE), Katerina Axelsson, co- founder & CEO of the Bottlefly, Inc., Incubating Company at the CIE SLO HotHouse, and Eric Adler, CEO of Flume, Incubating Company at the CIE SLO HotHouse, as they discuss as they discuss how the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship is helping to launch the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurial leaders.

Central Coast Voices is sponsored by ACTION for Healthy Communities in collaboration with KCBX and made possible through underwriting by Joan Gellert-Sargen.

Fred Munroe is a co-host of the KCBX talk show Central Coast Voices, heard every Thursday afternoon from 1:00-2:00.
