Creativity at the core

Feb 28, 2017

Broadcast date: 3/2/17

Creativity at the Core is a statewide program to support arts learning in California’s public schools, grades Pre-K through Twelve. Led by the California County Superintendents Arts Initiative, there are many state partners including the California PTA. Here on the Central Coast the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education and ARTS Obispo are partners, working with local interest groups and school districts, to further Creativity at the Core regionally.

Join host Fred Munroe as he speaks with guests Angela Tahti, Executive Director with ARTS Obispo and Kay Gore, artist and educator as they discuss how the program "Creativity at the Core,” is working to integrate arts education into the Common Core instruction by incorporating dance, music, theater, visual arts, and other arts forms to deepen student learning and engagement.

Central Coast Voices is sponsored by ACTION for Healthy Communities in collaboration with KCBX and made possible through underwriting by Joan Gellert-Sargen.
