Many in our society have a “lock 'em up and throw away the key” mentality when a teenager's life veers off path and they become problematic. The Bakari Mentoring Program at Cal Poly University believes that many of our youth can be re-directed through their intensive program that instead builds career and life skill development opportunities.
Host Kris Kington Barker will be joined by Dr. Roslyn Caldwell, program director of the Bakari Mentoring Program, as well as two of her program participants to discuss this topic. You are invited to listen and learn on Thursday between 1-2 pm.
Central Coast Voices is sponsored by ACTION for Healthy Communities in collaboration with KCBX. The show addresses the many ramifications of change and how today’s choices will affect tomorrow’s community. Suggestions for future show topics may be sent to voices@kcbx.
