KCBX makes our locally produced programs available on-demand after each show airs. Each on demand music program is replaced when that show airs next. Morning Cup and Jazz Overnight shows are available for a week after they air. Talk programs are kept indefinitely and older shows can be found on each show's program page.

This program is an extension and production of "Action for Healthy Communities" an organization committed to identifying and carrying out projects that will improve the quality of life in San Luis Obispo County.
  • Issues and Ideas is a show that features a wide variety of people sharing their thoughts and perspectives about local issues, initiatives and events on the Central Coast. You might hear a policy maker discussing new regulation, an artist sharing their creative process, an entrepreneur exploring sustainable business practices, or an author talking about her latest book.Regular contributors and segments include: the KCBX News team; travel correspondent Tom Wilmer's Journeys of Discovery; Father Ian Delinger's Playing With Food; Betsey Nash's The Grape Nut; Santa Barbara correspondent Beth Thornton; Literary Reviews by Brian Reynolds; Dr. Consuelo Meux's Nonprofit Story; Robin Coleman on animal welfare; Stu Soren on local issues; and Kim Bisheff on local government; along with many other occasional contributors from our Central Coast community. Local newscasts are at the top and bottom of each hour from 6:04 a.m. to 8:31 a.m. and from 4:32 p.m. to 6:04 p.m. You can also hear longer feature stories at 6:45 a.m., 8:45 a.m., and 5:45 p.m. on some weekdays.
