We are delighted to host the only Central Coast appearance of this musical slight of hand. As we kickoff our 2007 season of Música Del Río, we can find no better way to begin than to introduce you to this pair of musicians who will keep you pinned to your seats as the whole living room never stops moving.

Rich Warren from "The Midnight Special" and "Folkstage", WFMT Radio in Chicago says, “Jim Photoglo and Freebo perform a flawless magic act on stage. Professional accompanists and accomplished soloists, they trade instruments, vocals and mesmerizing songs with the finesse of a pair of magicians."

Música Del Río is a gathering of friends to enjoy fine acoustic music performers in our living room. With room for about 60 friends, singer-songwriters find house concerts to be a joyous way to share the art of their craft. 100% of the donations you make to attend this event go to the performers. We do this for the love of music, the love of friends to share it with and the love of opening our front door to make it happen. Donation is $15.00 (at the door) 100% goes to the musicians. In the morning she feels the low hum
of her body idling nowhere, a car
warming up in a snowy drive.
She wants to be a luxury model,
smooth Mercedes, royal Rolls,
but knows she's a hybrid,
a small gas-electric, so quiet
when stopped, as if stalled out,
chassis of skeleton and skin,
the heart of a hummingbird

HopeDance Films and Zaadz present TRUST 22, an amazing film full of magic and the power of pursuing one’s dreams. Oren Stambouli, after quitting his job at MTV Nickelodeon, decided to go on a fabulous journey into the realm of manifestation and the power of intention as he traveled the world searching for people that were pursuing their dreams. He knew he had to find every day people pursuing "impossible" dreams that would be achieved while shooting the film. As a further challenge, he didn't have a camera, a budget or even a script. But he had a story to tell and nothing was going to stop him from achieving his own dream. Be inspired by TRUST 22 on Sun Jan 28 at 3 pm at the SLO Public Library on the corners of Osos and Palm Sts. For information call Bob Banner 805 544-9663. ** An added benefit!! Oren will be in SLO for the film and able to answer questions afterward.    3:00 PM  -  5:00 PM SLAVYANKA-Men's Russian Chorus of San Francisco
    Contact: Pat Harris   805.542.0455   festival2007@gmail.com
Slavyanka Men’s Russian Chorus of San Francisco will make a special appearance in San Luis Obispo on January 28, 2007, at Grace Church Auditorium, San Luis Obispo. The concert, which will benefit the California International Choral Festival and Competition, will begin at 3:00 PM.

Slavyanka is an a cappella men’s choir that performs music from the varied choral traditions of Russia and Eastern Europe. Their repertoire is drawn mostly from Russian sacred, folk and composed music. It includes compositions by Mussorgsky, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov and a host of less well-known purveyors of the Slavic soul in song.

Slavyanka has toured the former USSR three times, performing in Moscow, Kiev, St. Petersburg, and Vladimir. They have also performed in Finland and Armenia. They have provided music for major motion pictures, including Robin Williams’ 1998 release, What Dreams May Come in which they performed on camera.

The concert is sponsored by SLO Vocal Arts Ensemble. Vocal Arts Director Gary Lamprecht said, “We are very excited to have a group of such high caliber performing here in San Luis Obispo. It is especially fitting because in June we will be hosting the California International Choral Festival and Competition, which will bring choruses from around the world to San Luis Obispo. This gives our local audience a chance to sample international choral music.”
