7:30 PM Música Del Río House Concerts Presents Krista Detor
    Contact: Fred Munroe   466-6941   fmunroe@kcbx.net
As the most forceful, yet elusive, voice behind a piano we have ever heard, Krista Detor has a musical style very hard to categorize. Carrie Newcomer says Krista sings “with a voice that could sing the phone book and make it sound beautiful and compelling…” We agree.

Musical styles and influences abound in her writing and she displays a versatility that is hard to categorize. A poetic and sought-after lyricist, Krista’s songs are vignettes, telling stories of time and experience. A folk singer with a piano instead of a guitar.

We will be hosting Krista on her first West Coast house concert tour. As one of the foremost purveyors of Americana to sold-out European audiences, Krista does not come west very often. It was a truly pleasant surprise that she accepted our invitation to appear at Música Del Río. Krista will be joined here by David Weber on guitar. The elephant will not be joining them on this tour.

Hope Dance Films presents AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH, a persuasive and heartfelt documentary that uses words, images and former Vice Presidents Gore's concise presentation of facts. This film succeeds at cutting through the clutter surrounding global warming by making a clear, compelling case for how our actions are affecting our planet and that we must begin immediate action to halt and reverse it. There will be a PANEL DISCUSSION following the film with prominent community leaders, including Mayor Dave Romero. Be informed and inspired. See AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH, Saturday Feb 24 at 6:30pm at the SLO public library on the corners of Palm and Osos St. For information call Bob Banner 805 544-9663. http://www.hopedance.org/
