CAYUCOS, November 11, 2006—San Luis Bay Surfrider Foundation will celebrate the beauty of the environment through local art, music, wine, beer, and food. It will hold its fourth annual coastal art show. This event is quickly becoming a local favorite because of the amount of talented artists, musicians, chefs, and vendors who donate their time and works to make it one of the few “free” major events left on our coast! The Free-Fall Art Benefit will include the famous "Surfrider Local-Organic Kitchen" featuring SLO's finest seasonal ingredients. Noah Smukler, benefit chef and Vice Chair of the San Luis Bay Chapter of Surfrider, noted “a tasty meal practically prepares itself when you start with the quality local organic ingredients grown here on the Central Coast!” Come on out to enjoy a plate of mouthwatering food! Approximately 35 Central Coast artists will promote and sell their work at the event. This list of artists includes well-known photographers, painters, jewelers, tiki carvers, ukulele makers, and other creative talents. The art will depict ocean life, waves, surfing, the coastal landscape, and environmental issues. In the spirit of conservation and environmental stewardship, the Art Benefit has been organized with a goal of producing ZERO WASTE! Each year, through the development of a special event composting and recycling plan, the Surfrider Free Fall Art Show has generated less than ONE BAG of TRASH! The event will be held on November 11, from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Cayucos Vets Hall. Located at the Cayucos Pier, the Cayucos Vets Hall lies in the heart of downtown Cayucos on the beach. The Central Coast Top 50 Surfers Awards Ceremony/After Party sponsored by Morro Bay Surf Company and Los Osos Board Shop will follow the Free-Fall from 6:30-11:00, featuring more local food, live music, and beer.
